Why connect ComingUp

ChatGPT can help check tomorrow’s appointments, add groceries, save useful information, update lists and notes, or save a recipe in ComingUp with your permission. Connecting ChatGPT is optional.

Connect ComingUp Today in ChatGPT

Getting started is simple: search for ComingUp Today in ChatGPT, install the app, connect your ComingUp account, and choose the permissions you want to allow. Once connected, you can use ComingUp from normal ChatGPT conversations.

Step by step

Connect ComingUp Today to ChatGPT

Install ComingUp Today from ChatGPT, connect your account, choose the permissions you want to allow, and use it in everyday chats.

  1. Find ComingUp Today in ChatGPT

    Open ChatGPT’s app directory and search for ComingUp Today.

  2. Install ComingUp Today

    Open the ComingUp Today listing and choose the available install or connect option in ChatGPT.

  3. Connect your ComingUp account

    Sign in to ComingUp when ChatGPT opens the connection flow. This links ChatGPT to your ComingUp account; it does not give access until you approve permissions.

  4. Choose what ChatGPT can use

    Review the permissions shown during connection and select the access you want to allow. You choose separately whether the assistant can view or change your ComingUp information, so you stay in control of what ChatGPT can do.

  5. Use ComingUp in everyday chats

    Return to a normal ChatGPT conversation and ask naturally. For example: “What do we have going on tomorrow?”, “Add milk to my shopping list,” or “Save this recipe to ComingUp.” If ChatGPT does not select ComingUp automatically, say “use ComingUp”.

  6. Reconnect ComingUp

    If ComingUp access expires or stops working, reconnect the ComingUp Today app from ChatGPT’s app settings. Review the requested permissions again before approving.

  7. Disconnect ComingUp

    Remove or disconnect ComingUp Today from ChatGPT’s app settings using the controls ChatGPT provides. This revokes ChatGPT’s access to ComingUp. Reconnecting requires the normal ComingUp authorization flow again.

Use it in everyday chats

Ask for what you want in normal language; there are no special commands to learn. Try “What do we have going on tomorrow?”, “Add milk to my shopping list,” or “Save this recipe to ComingUp.” When a request clearly relates to ComingUp, ChatGPT may select the app automatically. If it does not, say **“use ComingUp”**.

Manual MCP connection

Manual remote MCP setup depends on ChatGPT account and workspace capabilities. It is not required when you install the published ComingUp Today app from ChatGPT.

Ask what is coming up, find event details, or create and update events in ComingUp. Google and iCloud events can be viewed, but must be edited in their original calendar apps.

Make lists and keep them useful

Create a shopping or packing list, add items, change them, and check them off. You can also remove individual items.

Save and update notes

Find a note, save useful information from a conversation, or update an existing household note.

Keep useful contacts handy

Find a saved contact, add a new one using details you provide, or update an existing contact.

Create a recipe together, then save it

Ask your assistant to suggest and refine a recipe, then tell it to save the ingredients and instructions privately in ComingUp. Saving requires a plan with recipes and permission to save them; it does not publish the recipe.

Report a problem or suggest an idea

Ask your assistant to help describe a bug or feature request, then submit it privately to ComingUp when you agree. With support access, it can also check your reports and any replies. If the connection itself is broken, email support@comingup.today.

Ask how a feature works, how to get started, or where to find a setting. The assistant can look up ComingUp's published guides without access to your private household data.

Deliberate limits

  • No permanent deletion. Assistants cannot permanently delete your events, lists, notes, recipes, contacts, or household. They can remove individual list items.
  • What assistants cannot access. Assistants cannot access photos or media, change billing, or manage household settings through this connection.

Troubleshooting basics

  • If ComingUp Today does not appear in search, check whether apps are available for your ChatGPT account or workspace.

  • If an action is unavailable, review the ComingUp permissions you approved for the app.
