Create a safe, resettable demonstration using realistic synthetic household data across schedule views, Household Display, lists, notes, recipes, and selected photos where useful. No production household or user data.
Explore an occasional, restrained multi-photo moment within Ambient mode that returns cleanly to the schedule-first rotation. The final interaction and composition are not yet defined.
Reuse the private local media-cache approach proven by managed photos so Household Display can avoid unnecessarily fetching the same recipe image again and again.
Authenticated AI access is available through MCP for supported ComingUp schedules, events, lists, notes, contacts, recipes, account context, and carefully permissioned writes. Public directory listings remain separate provider review work. Connected Google, iCloud, and future provider calendars remain externally owned and read-only.
Directionally plausible ideas with product, design, architecture, or governance questions still open.
Consider deliberate, opt-in, read-only sharing between separate households for grandparents, adult children, caregivers, and other support people. Links would never become transitively shared. This requires an explicit domain, security, and governance revision before implementation because today’s architecture intentionally prevents cross-organization linking.
Explore domain-appropriate controls for omitting or redacting sensitive notes, lists, events, and photos on an otherwise authorized shared display. Presentation sensitivity is separate from authorization and encryption. Notes should likely default off for newly configured displays while remaining an explicit opt-in surface.
Evaluate provider-neutral calendar import or compatible phone/device workflows where they can remain understandable and read-only. A native mobile app solely for calendar ingestion would require stronger evidence.
Represent Due By and Anytime Today responsibilities on the time-centered Today surface with calm completion state—without scores, streaks, compliance dashboards, or gamification.
Explore capture-date-aware rotation, restrained “last year today” or multi-year context, and coarse meaningful place context. Person recognition would come much later, if ever justified, and does not exist today.
Consider recurring household bills or events, approximate amounts, and simple “still to come” schedule context without making bank-account aggregation the core product.
Consider secure, revocable links for a deliberately filtered schedule when requiring another account would add unnecessary friction.
Evaluate compact device widgets for a few useful upcoming items and quick entry without turning the product into a native-app-only experience.
Valuable work we have intentionally decided is not a current priority.
Read-only Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendar support remains valuable and likely needed, but it is intentionally deferred while higher-leverage work is completed.
We have investigated Google Cast and a Custom Web Receiver for presenting Household Display on existing Nest Hub hardware. That route remains deferred; ComingUp does not currently provide a native Nest app.
Alexa launch paths and appropriate Echo Show surfaces or widgets remain deferred. ComingUp does not currently support Alexa.
Additional provider imports may be reconsidered only with clear demand and narrow, understandable access. Native apps remain conditional on product needs the web experience cannot serve well.

Families can upload and manage selected private photos in ComingUp and let them rotate naturally through Household Display’s Ambient mode. Browser-side media caching improves repeated display performance. Photos add restrained family warmth around coordination; they are not a standalone digital photo-frame product or a broad external photo-library connection.
Use a browser-capable shared screen for Today and supporting household surfaces. Ambient mode rotates automatically through useful available content with configurable timing and night dimming.
Optional Weather context is available for supported U.S. locations. A browser or display can keep a coarse ZIP/city choice on that device for nearby daily and near-term Household Display context, without continuous geolocation or household-wide location state. Event Weather is separately optional: timed events with usable location evidence can show forecast context for their actual time, while all-day events use date-based summaries. Event Weather never silently falls back to the device’s Local Weather location.
Bring supported Google and iCloud calendars into one visibility layer while their source calendars remain externally owned and authoritative.

Create ComingUp-owned events and keep useful people and place details available to the household.
