Simple fresh garden salsa with cherry tomatoes, wax peppers, serranos, onion, garlic, cilantro, and lime. Cowhorn pepper or extra serranos can be added for a hotter batch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cherry tomatoes

    halved

  • ¼ onion Small onion

    roughly chopped

  • 2 Wax peppers

    roughly chopped

  • 2 Serrano peppers

    roughly chopped

  • 2–3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small handful Cilantro
  • ½ tsp Salt

    adjust to taste

  • 1 tbsp Lime juice

    add more to taste

  • optional Hot cowhorn pepper or additional serranos

    add for a hotter salsa

Instructions

  1. Add the onion, wax peppers, serranos, and garlic to a food processor.

  2. Pulse until finely chopped, but not paste-like.

  3. Add the cherry tomatoes, cilantro, salt, and lime juice.

  4. Pulse just a few times until the salsa is chunky and combined. Do not puree.

  5. Taste and adjust salt or lime as needed.

  6. For a hotter salsa, add some hot cowhorn pepper or additional serranos and pulse briefly again.

  7. Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes before serving.

  8. Stir before serving. If the tomatoes release too much liquid, spoon off a little excess.
