Fudgy chocolate cake baked in an 8x8 pan and topped with creamy peanut butter frosting, Reese's Minis, Reese's Pieces, and chocolate sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 box fudge chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 of the listed amounts ingredients called for on cake mix box
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

    softened

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon milk

    plus more if needed

  • as desired Reese's Minis
  • as desired Reese's Pieces
  • as desired chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare half of the fudge chocolate cake mix using half of each ingredient called for on the box.

  3. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared 8x8 pan. The pan should be no more than about 2/3 full.

  4. Bake for about 25–32 minutes, checking around 25 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

  5. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

  6. Make the peanut butter frosting: beat the softened butter and peanut butter together until smooth and fluffy.

  7. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar.

  8. Add vanilla, salt, and milk. Beat until light and creamy. Add another small splash of milk if needed for spreading or piping.

  9. Spread or pipe the frosting over the cooled cake.

  10. Top with Reese's Minis, Reese's Pieces, and chocolate sprinkles. Slice and enjoy!
