Use ChatGPT to help with everyday family plans

Ask about your schedule, add events and contacts, update lists and notes, and save recipes in ComingUp with a compatible ChatGPT connection.

Turn a conversation into a plan

Ask “What do we have going on this weekend?” or “Add soccer practice in ComingUp for Thursday at 5 pm.” A connected assistant can find events and create or update events in ComingUp. Google and iCloud events stay in their original calendars: you can ask about them, but edit them in Google or iCloud.

Keep lists, notes, and contacts up to date

Try “Create a packing list for our weekend trip,” “Add sunscreen to that list,” or “Mark the towels as packed.” You can also create a note, update an existing one, or save a new contact with the details you provide. Ask the assistant to save a useful result in ComingUp so your household can find it later.

Create a recipe together, then save it

Ask ChatGPT to suggest a dinner using ingredients you have, adjust the recipe together, then say “Save this recipe privately in ComingUp.” ChatGPT helps create the recipe; ComingUp keeps the ingredients and instructions in your household cookbook. Saving recipes requires a plan that includes recipes. The assistant does not publish them.

Get help without starting over

If something goes wrong, ask “Help me describe this problem and submit a bug report to ComingUp.” You can also ask it to submit a feature request, then check your report’s status and any replies. You choose what to submit and must allow support access. Reports go privately to ComingUp; they do not become public GitHub issues. Ask how ComingUp works

Try “What can ComingUp help our household with?” or “How do I connect my iCloud calendar?” A supported assistant can look up ComingUp’s published guides and explain features, setup, and common questions. Looking up that public information does not require giving it access to your private household data.

Connect once and choose what to allow

Follow the ChatGPT setup guide, sign in to ComingUp, and choose what the assistant can access or change. Available connection options depend on your ChatGPT account and plan. Check the current setup instructions before subscribing for this use. You can ask naturally; there are no special commands to memorize.
