One shared calendar for Today, Week, and Month
How the shared calendar works
The shared calendar view is a coordination surface for an active household or workspace. It shows events from connected calendars and internally managed events together, while preserving each source's ownership model.
- Schedule data is loaded for the active household or workspace. Invited members see the shared schedule after they sign in; people and contacts do not grant access.
- Visibility controls show or hide whole calendars. Events from shown calendars are included in the shared view; events from hidden calendars are not.
- Standard calendar visibility is not people or group filtering. The available controls operate at the calendar level.
Today, Week, and Month explained
Today
Shows the internal and imported events scheduled for the current local day.
Week
Places the next seven local days in one schedule, starting with today.
Month
Lays events across the selected month for a wider scan of the schedule.
Source ownership: internal and imported events
- Internal events are managed directly in ComingUp Today and can be created, edited, and deleted there.
- Imported Google and iCloud events stay owned by the provider calendar and appear in this shared view as read-only items.
- Show/hide controls operate on entire imported calendars, not on individual event rows.
People, members, and household access
People are event context
A person can be attached to internal events even if they do not sign in. Contacts separately hold reusable external person, organization, and location details. Neither record type grants workspace access.
Members authenticate
Invited members sign in to the household or workspace. They see the same shared events and schedule information for that active workspace.
